Ministry of the Lawn Mower Man

Church is not a building.

Church is not a pastor.

Church is God’s people joining together.

Church is family.

God is redesigning what church is in my life.

Today a man loaded a lawn mower into an old van and met a friend at a church member’s house.

They mowed her lawn.

She tried to pay for the work. The amount she offered was a sacrifice, yet she gladly insisted.

The lawn mower man simply said, “This is my ministry.”

The work continued joyfully.

Being Jesus to someone doesn’t just mean preaching the Word or holding a prayer meeting.

Being Jesus to someone can come in the form of sweat and dirt and a lawn mower.

That is our ministry.

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. Matthew 25: 40

About Kimberly Vogel

I am a mom of four beautiful daughters, a writer, and a certified Early Childhood and Elementary Teacher who recently made the switch from teaching in a classroom to teaching her children at home. I am often found in the children’s area of my church where I volunteer and lead a children’s program. Writing is a natural outpouring of my love for my Savior. Follow along while I share my journey as a bridge builder with you. My prayer is that you start building bridges too!
